Dance Community,
HOUSTON DANCECITY CHAMPIONSHIPS
HAS BEEN POSTPONED.
(New Date to be announced!)
Many of you know by now, after last Monday's Announcement,
the Melody Club will have to close and be moved out, by the end of June.
This is a sad & tragic loss for our social dancing community.
Melody was in its fourth decade of providing music, dancing, dance lessons and social interaction for ballroom,
West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop & East Coast Swing, Salsa, Cha,
Bachata & many other latin dances, Hip-Hop, 2-step Swing-Out, Hustle & Shag dancing also.
Many of you grew up dancing at Melody and many of you have a lot of memories that will remain with you.
That is something that this new building owner who is throwing Melody out,
can't take from you. Always remember Melody.
It also has had a tragic effect on our City Dance Event. The Houston DanceCity Championships event
was to be held at Melody Club as usual on the last weekend of July, from July 26 thru the 28th of this year.
With such short notice we have no choice and with great regret, but to announce that the
"HOUSTON DANCECITY CHAMPIONSHIPS" will need to be postponed to a later date
in order to give us time to relocate to another venue.

I want to thank all of you for supporting DanceCity over the years
and look forward to your continued support in the fulture. After all…
this is Houston's only City Dance event, that was specifically designed for our Houston Dance Community.
I hope you will support your local city event. Why? Because DanceCity is you and without you there is no DanceCity.
We are looking at other possible locations and welcome any
suggestions or help our dance friends have to offer in solving our temporary problem.
